Trans Borneo Expedition

Don't be fooled by the title! No orchids here though I tried to stop by at the 'nursery' in Brunei. Hey! I couldn't find it anymore, haha. This is my second time driving from Sabah to Brunei. We drove from Semporna - Tawau - Tenom - Brunei - Miri. It was a leisure trip with beautiful scenery from tawau - Kalabakan - Tenom.

Nevertheless, I stopped by at 'THE' place that I wish I can go there in the future - LONG PASIA, TENOM! The orchid heaven...

Camping at Endau Rompin National Park

Norli planned for the trip. It was my first time to this beautiful waterfall. Haji Naza had been to this place before and along the way to the main waterfall, there were so many bulbos and some common ones too (https://www.flickr.com/photos/malaysianorchidinsitu/9899721086/in/photostream). It was really a nice and pristine jungle!

Trip to Gunung Arong, Tanjung Resang - Mersing

A weekend trip with Musa just to burn some calories. Not really high ~ 900 meters above sea level. Few common orchids can be found along the trail.

Mulu National Park! Here I Come...

Where is Paphiopedilum sanderianum!! I can't find it! haha..

It was definitely an amazing trip! Climbing Mount Api-Api to watch the famous pinnacles, stumbling upon flowering Dimorphosis lowii insitu, exploring dark caves and watching thousands of bats among the many caves in the national park. But.. I did not find what I wan to see, the precious sanderianum in situ. I will surely come back again to this beautiful place!

Weekend Trip to Gunung Buah, Cameron Highland

A day trip hiking to Gunung Buah with fellow friends. Not that high but so funny that we did not make it! hahaha... Nevertheless, there were few common orchids along the trail.

Againnnn... I Love Cameron Highlands!

I realized that many orchids can be found 1000 meters above the sea level. You name it! These are cold growing ones. They are beautiful but difficult to impossible to adapt at the lowland. My trip to CH this time is to meet this old chap - the so not well-known self learn anatomist. We had quite a lively discussion on orchid taxonomy, nomenclature and exchange of ideas. The next day, we visited few areas at CH photographing and taking samples of orchids.
