Trip to Jakarta Orchid Nurseries

It was a 2-day business trip to Jakarta with my President. Fortunately, Indonesia was on holiday - 'Hari Raya Nyepi Tahun Baru Saka 1936', huhu sounds scary! My friend, brought me around few nurseries in Jakarta. We also drop by at Pak Brill's nursery but he was not there at that time.

 

Weekend Escapade to Lata Medang

Hiking to a new waterfall at Kuala Kubu. It is a 1.5 hour walk from the Orang Asli settlement. Pheww.. a beautiful waterfall and sure I will come here again! Common orchids found along the trail include D. sanguinolentum, D. farmeri, A. odorata and some ground orchids.

Trans Borneo Expedition

Don't be fooled by the title! No orchids here though I tried to stop by at the 'nursery' in Brunei. Hey! I couldn't find it anymore, haha. This is my second time driving from Sabah to Brunei. We drove from Semporna - Tawau - Tenom - Brunei - Miri. It was a leisure trip with beautiful scenery from tawau - Kalabakan - Tenom.

Nevertheless, I stopped by at 'THE' place that I wish I can go there in the future - LONG PASIA, TENOM! The orchid heaven...
