Orchid Hunting - Cameron Jungle

There is only one orchid that I am highly anticipated to find - Bulbophyllum virescen 'Red' - something that has not been seen before. Me and Hj Naza have talked about it for so long and finally after more than 10 years, we are going to explore and check whether the plant is still there or not. 

We met Mr. Kali and started our journey to a remote place somewhere in Pahang. After trekking for about 3 hours on the second day, we scouted the area and only managed to find many yellow virescen with spikes - perhaps within a week will bloom!

On the 3rd day, before packing our stuff to go back, I scouted the area once more and lo and behold! 

I FOUND IT!... it was amazing!

I am very sure this is the plant. The old clump/colony is 2 feet below the upper leaves

Call for Teaching - MPU3212

"Helmi, can you teach entrepreneurship subject?"

I used to teach management subject at IIUM before. So teaching entrepreneurship may not be difficult after all. In fact, i am eager to teach so that I can impart my, well.. not so successful entrepreneurship story yet.. hihi   

Meeting of Masters

Nope! It is not about mastersianum again, haha. It is a meeting of my 2 masters, Haji Naza and Abg Nuar. Abg Nuar attended Betta competition yesterday and today spending time at Seremban meeting Hj Naza at his house. We talked about a lot of things and he brought back a cutting of annandalei and few orchid flasks.

I Found It! Bulbophyllum mastersianum In Situ

Remember Bulbophyllum mastersianum from the earlier post? I am so eager to see it insitu. During the Chemerong trip, I called Br. Fatah and asked him to wander around in the jungle in Gua Musang. The trip was a success. I finally managed to record the 'unrecorded' mastersianum in Peninsular Malaysia.
